About Tours Booking Carribean Adventure Guestbook

On Sunday November 6th, 2005 Schooner Amoeba left from the Baddeck wharf to begin a voyage to the Caribbean, a journey that will take about 2 weeks. The Captain, his family and crew members were given a wonderful Bon Voyage send off by the Commodore, members of the Bras d’Or Yacht Club, and many well wishers. The party included a great hot breakfast that was available to everyone, and a blessing by the local parish priest. As the Amoeba pulled away form the wharf to the sound of spontaneous applause, a very moving three - gun salute rang out to wish them well.

Captain John headed to St. Peters where he expected they would spend a couple of days until they had a favorable forecast to leave. On Tuesday November 8th, they left St. Peters heading towards Bermuda. This first leg of the voyage is expected to take 8 days. From Bermuda, they will sail to St. Martins. Upon reaching this island, 3 of the crew will then fly back to Canada, leaving John and Kyle who will stay in St. Martin until Kristy and Laura and I join them in December.

This very exciting adventure has been the result of many months of planning and preparation. We plan to make the Amoeba our home as we begin a 5-month sailing adventure through the Caribbean, on what we anticipate to be a trip of a lifetime.

Amoeba Sailing Tours, Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Amoeba passengers sail the Bra dÕOr Lakes of Cape Breton Island and see the Alexander Graham Bell mansion, bald eagles fishing, and the Baddeck shore line. This is simply a pleasure trip that will include visiting and exploring ports throughout the Leeward and Windward islands.

Kristy and Laura currently attend Baddeck Academy, where staff have been very supportive of this trip. The girls will be schooled via correspondence courses, and by homework packages, sent regularly by email.

We will be updating our website on a regular basis with pictures and information about the places we have visited.

We plan to return to Baddeck in mid May, and will continue our sailing tours from the wharf for another tourist season.
