Baddeck
Light House & Kidston Island
Kidston
Island is a lively place to be during the summer months.
Residents and visitors alike take ferry boat from the Baddeck
wharf, across to Kidston Island where you can while
away the afternoon on the beach, enjoy a swim, take a stroll
around the light house or on the walking trail around the island.
Cape
Breton is home to hundreds of pairs of nesting bald eagles. We
are able to see these wonderful birds on most of our tours. There
are several nests that can be viewed from the boat. The
eagles will usually circle the boat while we are sailing, because
they know we will sometimes throw them a fish. As they dive into
the water to retrieve the fish, it makes for incredible photo
opportunities.
Baddeck
Shoreline
From
the comfort of the Schooner Amoeba, you can enjoy the beautiful
Baddeck shoreline and the lush trees and flowers. You get wonderful
views of the Bell Museum, Bell Bay Golf Course, Alexander Graham
Bell's mansion Beinn Bhreagh, the surrounding communities of
Washabuck, and Boularderie Islands, Kempt Head and Spectacle
Island (Bird Sanctuary).
